Growers Express

Ron Harney was born and raised in Salinas, California. A third generation farmer, his grandfathers were farmers, as was his father. Late in high school he began working on the McKinsey's ranch, growing for Admiral Packing, and later joining forces with Growers Express.

He sees his role as a grower as trying to build a first class product line that can compete with the largest most respected shippers. He enjoys the lifestyle of being a farmer, the actual work as well as the people involved.

Ron and his wife Gail have three children, Melissa and Megan, who are attending college, and Anthony, a high school student. In his free time, Ron enjoys playing golf and playing in adult basketball leagues, traveling and watching his son play roller hockey.

His philosophy is simple: "Put in an honest day's work and hopefully it will pay off."
